I needed to deliver 48 miniature cupcakes for a friend's picnic last Friday. Although I was hesitant to re-use the cupcake carriers of disaster, I pretty much had to. I am proud and relieved to report that the cupcakes made it unscathed to their destination. Although this success was primarily due to the fact that my friend lives only 0.6 miles away and I traveled on DuPage County tax-supported roads. No potholes here, my friends.

I have mentioned before that I steal my cupcake recipes from the aptly named Martha Stewart book 'Cupcakes'. That does not mean that I religiously adhere to those recipes. I do my fair share of experimenting. This time I took her Candied Orange & Vanilla cupcakes and swapped lemons for oranges. The result was good, although I would like them to be more lemony and may need to purchase some lemon essence or oil to add next time for more ooomph.
