Cowgirl Creamery - Mt Tam
My all-time favorite cheese, the cheese that I absolutely cannot resist under any circumstances is Cowgirl Creamery's Red Hawk. Unfortunately I have only seen it in a retail shop twice in my life. Unless I want to order a 3-pack for my own personal consumption direct from the Point Reyes, California company, I am out of luck. Well imagine my excitement when I wandered into the Hinsdale Whole Foods last week and discovered Cowgirl Creamery's Mt Tam. I think I actually squealed.
Similar to the Red Hawk but much much milder, I was able to refrain from devouring the whole $20 package in one sitting, but it was still delicious. Worth every penny.
If anyone out there in the Western suburbs of Chicago would like to split a 3-pack of the Red Hawk with me, I'm willing to talk...

Check Whole Foods! I think they have the RED HAWK.

Which Whole Foods? Seriously, I'll make a special trip. I find that the cheese selections at different locations vary, and now that I'm in the burbs the ones out here tend to have a little less variety than some of the city locations. I'm not surprised, just a little disappointed.
